Skymark Medical Centre - Fall 2026
Vaccine Information
This page will provide ongoing weekly updates on the availability of cold and flu season vaccines. These vaccines are not yet available in our office, and are expected to be distributed to our office in the middle to end of October 2026. Please do not call to book these vaccines until the stock table below shows them as available.
For most seasonal vaccines, we recommend using a pharmacy or public health vaccination clinic whenever possible. Skymark Medical Centre provides certain vaccines for infants and pregnant patients, and other vaccines when you cannot conveniently get them elsewhere.

How to book with us to administer vaccines
Please first check whether you can get the vaccine you need at a pharmacy or a public health vaccine administration clinic, based on the Quick guide table above.
If you are not able to get your vaccine at a pharmacy or public health clinic, please book online with your own doctor: skymarkmedical.ca/online-booking. This is the fastest way to reach us.
If you cannot book online, call 289-497-8747.
Can I get more than one vaccine at the same visit?
Yes. If you are eligible for more than one of these vaccines, you can safely get them at the same time or on different days, and the Ministry of Health encourages this. When several are given, they are usually given in different arms or legs. Mild side effects such as a sore arm or tiredness can overlap but are usually short-lived.
Please check the stock table above for which vaccines we currently have available.
1. Flu shots (influenza)
Everyone 6 months of age and older who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario is eligible for a free flu vaccine.
- High-risk and priority groups: can start the week of September 28, 2026. Initial supply goes first to hospital and long-term care settings and to people 65 and older.
- General public: starting October 26, 2026.
Who is considered high-risk? (as defined by the Ministry of Health)
- Residents of long-term care homes, retirement homes and other congregate living settings
- Adults 65 years of age and older
- Pregnant people
- Children 6 months to 4 years of age
- People in or from First Nations, Métis or Inuit communities
- People 6 months and older with: heart or lung conditions; diabetes or other metabolic disease; cancer; a weakened immune system (condition or medication); kidney disease; anemia or
- hemoglobin disorders; neurologic or neurodevelopmental conditions; severe obesity (BMI 40 or higher); or, for children and teens, long-term aspirin treatment.
Ages 2 and older
Please get your flu shot at a pharmacy whenever possible. Skymark Pharmacy (in the unit next to our clinic) or any participating pharmacy can provide it.
- Skymark Pharmacy: walk in, or call to book: 905-602-7110. Online booking is coming soon.
Please note: Skymark Pharmacy is not expected to receive flu vaccine supply until mid-to-late October 2026, the same timing as our office. Other participating pharmacies may have stock sooner.
Children 6 months to under 2 years
Pharmacies cannot vaccinate children under 2. Please check for a public health clinic first, using the phone numbers and links in the Public health vaccine information table above (Peel, Toronto or Halton, depending on where you live).
If no public health clinic is available, book an appointment with your child’s doctor at Skymark Medical Centre. Please check the stock table above for current flu vaccine availability.
First flu vaccine for a child under 9
Children 6 months to under 9 years who have never had a flu vaccine need 2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart. Please start early so the second dose can be completed.
High-risk patients
Skymark may not have flu vaccine in the first weeks of the program. If you are in a high-risk or priority group and want your flu vaccine as soon as possible, please check participating pharmacies or public health clinics rather than waiting for our supply.
2. COVID-19 vaccines
COVID-19 vaccines are not available at Skymark Medical Centre.
The Ontario Ministry of Health recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine once each year in the fall. It is free for everyone 6 months and older who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario. People at higher risk may be eligible for an additional dose in the spring. The general public can start October 26, 2026. Please get yours at a participating pharmacy or a public health clinic.
Children 6 months to 4 years: pharmacy availability varies, so please call the pharmacy first. You can also ask your public health unit about clinic options, using the table above.
3. RSV immunization
Infants and young children: Beyfortus®
Beyfortus (nirsevimab) is a long-acting antibody that protects against severe RSV disease. It is available from October 1, 2026.
Publicly funded Beyfortus is available for:
- Infants born April 1, 2026 or later who are less than 8 months old at the time of immunization; and
- Certain high-risk children under 24 months of age, as defined by the Ministry of Health and following a discussion with their pediatrician or pediatric specialist (see the Ministry’s RSV information).
Most babies need only one form of RSV protection: either Beyfortus for the baby or Abrysvo for the mother during pregnancy. If you received Abrysvo, please tell us at your baby’s visit. Some babies, such as those born less than 14 days after the mother’s vaccine or those at higher medical risk, may still need Beyfortus.
We can give Beyfortus at your baby’s scheduled well-child visit, and we will have stock ready. If you would like it sooner than your next well-child visit, a public health clinic (when available) is the best first option. Otherwise, book an appointment with your child’s doctor at Skymark Medical Centre. RSV season generally runs from November to April.
Pregnancy: Abrysvo®
Abrysvo is available at Skymark Medical Centre for people who are 32–36 weeks pregnant and will deliver during RSV season. Beyfortus for the baby is the preferred option, and Abrysvo is an alternative. Most families need only one of the two, so please talk with your doctor, midwife or obstetrician about which is right for you.
Publicly funded RSV vaccine in pregnancy is not available at pharmacies.
Older adults
Ontario funds one RSV vaccine dose for adults 75 years and older, and for adults 60–74 who meet the Ministry of Health’s criteria below, if they have not previously received a publicly funded RSV vaccine. The vaccine can be given at any time of year. Public health clinics are the preferred first option. If a clinic is not available or accessible, book with your doctor at Skymark Medical Centre.
Ministry of Health funding criteria for ages 60–74:
- Resident of a long-term care home, Elder Care Lodge, retirement home or similar setting
- Hospital patient receiving alternate level of care (ALC), including similar settings
- Patient with glomerulonephritis who is moderately to severely immunocompromised
- Patient receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
- Recipient of a solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplant
- Person experiencing homelessness
- Person who identifies as First Nations, Inuit or Métis
This list describes who Ontario funds, not everyone who may be at higher risk. If you have a chronic condition and do not meet the criteria, talk to your doctor about whether RSV vaccine is right for you.
It can be purchased privately with a prescription and given at a pharmacy or by your doctor. Publicly funded RSV vaccine is not available through pharmacies.

Vaccine availability can change throughout the respiratory illness season. Please check with the vaccination provider before attending.
